The moment the new Porsche Spyder was announced, it was clear it would be a mouth-watering prospect for TheCarGuys. A letter of intent was delivered to an AD and the waiting game began.
Happily, unlike many other special cars, we were actually given a build slot for this one, in typical Porsche fashion - quickly and efficiently.
And it’s a stunning car - agile, powerful, balanced and it has to be said, good looking. But just a stock Spyder was never the plan for this car. The spec was to be to homage to the 1950s Porsche RSK, with numbered racing ‘meatballs’ and re-upholstered aged leather seats.
Given that this car will never be sold, and forms part of TheCarGuys’ Porsche section of the garage, these modifications are likely to be joined with a new exhaust system to improve the weakest part of this car, the sound.
