This was my first Ferrari - the one I always wanted. Finally I was able to save up enough money to make the childhood dream come true, and of course it had to be red, as three quarters of all first-time Ferraris are. This particular 355 Spider had it all - a manual gearbox, low mileage, blemish-free Pininfarina body, and screaming V8 engine (initially it had a Tubi exhaust - quickly removed as it was way too anti-social).

I’ve owned this 1996 car since 2003 and I will never sell it. It might cost a King’s ransom to run, with frequent eye-watering bills, but it delivers a pure Italian supercar experience that few can match. The ‘click-clack’ of the metal five speed gearbox, the wind-in-your-hard Ferrari experience, and of course that feeling that you are part of a historic family of true greatness.
