I still do not know what came over me in the summer of 2017, and why I had an unshakable desire to suddenly own an F12 TDF. When the car was announced in 2015 I didn’t care about the car, nor did I try to get one. But 2 years later, I spent a stupid top-of-the-market amount buying this yellow beauty from its first owner through Romans International. That first owner flipped the car and made nearly £500k in the process!
It is the perfect spec - triple layer yellow, black stripe running across the bonnet, and all the carbon, including a signed engine bay. At the time, it felt like a shrewd decision snapping up a TDF - surely they would only increase in value, being one of 799, and widely recognised as one of the finest Ferraris in existence.
Two things then happened. 1. I actually drove the car ( 5,000 miles to be exact ), and 2. the market crashed. Both things have decimated the value of the car and made it one of the biggest value losses in TheCarGuys garage.
But, I shouldn’t grumble. I still own an F12 TDF. So it’s not all bad.
